Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy IT Support Specialist to join our team. The IT Support Specialist will play a crucial role in managing data transfers for our human resources operations, specifically handling the transfer of employee personnel files from our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to our secure company cloud database. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, data security awareness, and efficient organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage a high volume of file transfers within a structured timeframe.
Essential Functions
- Data Transfer Management: Perform accurate and timely transfers of employee personnel files from the HRIS to a designated company cloud database. Meet a target of at least 70 personnel file transfers per 8-hour shift.
- Data Quality Assurance: Ensure transferred data is complete, accurate, and organized according to company standards. Verify successful file transfer and troubleshoot any inconsistencies.
- Technical Support for HRIS: Provide basic technical support for the HRIS system and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
- Compliance and Security: Follow all data security protocols to protect sensitive employee information. Maintain confidentiality and ensure all data transfers comply with company policies and relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Documentation and Reporting: Document transfer processes, log completed transfers, and report progress or issues to management. Assist in refining data transfer workflows and documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR and IT teams to coordinate transfer schedules, clarify data needs, and ensure smooth operation of the HRIS system.
- Education: Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in IT support, data transfer, or similar roles. Experience with HRIS or data management systems is a plus.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet daily transfer targets. Basic knowledge of HRIS platforms, cloud databases, and data transfer protocols.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, cloud databases, and basic data management tools. Familiarity with data security best practices is preferred.
- High school diploma or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Elevated level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
