Summary:

The IT Manager is responsible for the overall management of the IT department, including planning, design, implementation, support of all IT services and security and confidentiality of all IT systems and data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and implements IT strategies that support the company's business goals.
  2. Manages the IT department including hiring and training IT staff, developing and implementing IT policies and procedures, and managing IT budgets and expenses.
  3. Identifies technology needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers.
  4. Manages effective security measures to minimise risks to security.
  5. Scans and evaluates the organization’s current systems to find any risks, vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities.
  6. Ensures the security and confidentiality of all IT systems and data including the development and implementation of security policies and procedures, training staff on security best practices, and monitoring for and responding to security threats.
  7. Ensures the company has a suitable disaster recovery policy and adequate contingency plans.
  8. Increases end user satisfaction levels by constantly improving relevant applications.
  9. Collaborates closely with other departments to understand their IT requirements, needs and preferences and install these systems accordingly.
  10. Represents the company to vendors and other IT professionals including the negotiation of contracts with vendors.
  11. Stays up-to-date on the latest IT trends and technologies.
  12. Implements active IT Projects.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of any computer related courses such as BS IT, BS Computer Engineering or BS Industrial Engineering
  2. Proven experience as IT Manager or a similar role
  3. Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  4. Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  5. Experience in controlling information technology budget
  6. Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills
