The Business Systems Analyst is the liaison between the business group, vendors, and the information systems group. The Business Systems Analyst analyzes the project requirements, functional specifications, and assists the business in documenting the requirements to ensure the development of a comprehensive solution. The Business Analyst is assigned 1 to 3 concurrent projects/initiatives that are aligned to a single business segment’s strategy and objectives and/or with simple to medium complexity

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs, gathers and documents requirements, and analyzes them to determine underlying business objectives and problems
  • Documents and analyzes current business processes, maps process flows, and identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
  • Conducts data analysis and interpreting trends, patterns, and insights to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement
  • Develops innovative solutions, recommends process changes, system enhancements, or other initiatives to address identified issues and achieve business objectives
  • Collaborates with stakeholders including business users, IT teams, and management to ensure clear communication, alignment of expectations, and buy-in for proposed solutions
  • Analyzes business requirements and assist the business in documentation by organizing disparate requirements into logical categories
  • Translates business requirements into functional specifications and communicate requirements to the technical team
  • Bridges the gap between the business and the development team to clarify requirements
  • Assists with project planning, monitoring progress, tracking milestones, and coordinating resources to ensure timely delivery of projects or initiatives
  • Creates and maintains detailed documentation of requirements, specifications, process maps, test plans, and project-related information
  • Produces regular reports to communicate project status, issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Identifies scope changes and assists the Project Manager in scope management
  • Assesses the design risks and identifies mitigating action
  • Supports testing efforts by defining test scenarios, coordinates testing activities, and verifies that implemented solutions meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Assists with change management activities, such as conducting impact assessments, identifying training needs, and developing communication plans to ensure successful implementation of changes
  • Provides end-user manuals/instruction to the application support group, especially when it comes to resolving production issues
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, tools, methodologies, and best practices related to business analysis

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a 4-year college degree in Computer Science, IT, Management or other related courses
  • At least 2 years of experience in a business systems analysis role
  • At least 3 years of experience in the IT industry
  • At least 2 years of experience in a financial services institution
  • Knowledge in Business systems analysis
  • Knowledge in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge in Financial services

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
