Intermediate Network Engineer (L2.5) / Hybrid Set-up

YOUR ROLE
Responsible for overseeing and assisting with the configuration and maintenance of simple to large-scale network infrastructure. Responsibilities will also include assisting in the maintenance of existing network infrastructure in a continuous service improvement approach.
Network Engineer will provide remediation support to CEVA customers through the design, implementation, and integration of network infrastructure, assisting Project Managers with customer projects. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values. First level escalation from help desk/NOC.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Monitor and maintain all the network devices (SD-WAN devices, routers, switches, wifi controllers, etc) and any other related equipment and services.
- Perform audit on Network Devices to make sure that they have the standard configurations applied, firmware is to up-to-date, and evaluate if there are risks with the current setup (e.g End of Life Devices, SPOF Switches).
- Create and maintain documentation for monitoring, processes, network diagrams and existing devices inventory.
- Plan, schedule, and implement network upgrades (SD-WAN devices, routers, switches, wifi controllers, etc).
- Prepare and configure network devices for New Site Implementations and Migrations.
- Perform cleanups related Decommissions.
- Provide service/change management support (e.g. Configuration changes on Network Devices, Access points activations).
- Work on incidents/problem tickets related to infrastructure, collaborate with other Infrastructure teams and Vendors if needed.
- Identify mission critical production network related issue and troubleshoot end-user issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for monitoring, processes, network diagrams and existing devices inventory.
- Monitor and maintain all the network devices (DC, SD-WAN devices, routers, switches, wifi controllers, etc) any other related equipment and services.
- Perform network devices upgrade activities.
- Be available, willing to cover shifts as required, to rapidly troubleshoot any problems resulting from the changes and or faults.
- Create WIFI Planner/Heatmap for offices and warehouses
- Perform Disaster Recovery failover for Data Center and illustrate traffic flow
- Handle and prepare Data Center capacity reporting and weekly changes
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/engineering or related field preferred or minimum 5 years relevant work experience is required.
- Good relevant experience with DC, SD-WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi technologies.
- Understanding of DC technologies
- Understanding of SD-WAN and LAN technologies
- Cisco/HP certification is required (CCNA).
- CCNP preferred.
Experience:
SDWAN:
1. Experience in provisioning/activation of SDWAN edges
2. Creation of business policies and profiles depending on the requirements of the customer
3. Solid understanding of routing protocols (BGP, static, OSPF)
4. Able to configure and troubleshoot IPSEC/GRE tunnels
5. Solid understanding of the underlay and overlay technologies
6. Has hands-on experience with Network Address Translation (NAT)
LAN:
1. Able to configure L2 and L3 switches from scratch (e.g. hostnames, banners, SSH, radius, IP address, SNMP, syslog, Smart Licensing, Trunk ports, Access ports, Access Lists)
2. Able to configure and troubleshoot issues with regards to Etherchannel (LACP, PAGP), Spanning Tree, Port Security, DHCP Snooping, HA (High Availability), and Stacking of Switches.
3. Perform firmware upgrades on devices from multiple vendors
4. Solid understanding on popular networking protocols such as ICMP (ping and traceroutes), DHCP, FTP, TFTP, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, Radius, SMNP, and DNS.
5. Able to perform and analyze packet captures using Wireshark
6. Preferably with basic knowledge on scripting but not required
WIFI:
1. Preferably with experience with WIFI Planner/Heatmap Creation
2. Solid understanding of 802.11 technologies
3. Basic Understanding of authentication methods (e.g Open, 802.1x)
4. Familiarity with controller-based and standalone access points
5. Has experience in activating controller-based access points
6. Has experience working on WIFI related issues (e.g Signal problems, RF Guns disconnections)
DC:
1. Solid understanding of HSRP, VRRP, Stacking and redundancy technologies
2. Solid understanding of VPC, VSS and network resilience technologies
3. Handled MPLS technology and strong background on OSPF, BGP, VPN protocols
4. Experienced on Data Center interconnect technologies. IE: VDC, DCI and OTV technologies
5. Experienced on Installing, maintaining and managed Cisco Nexus device
6. Experienced on Network Failover scenarios and identify mean time to recover
Specialist Knowledge & Skills
- Manage network operations for data communications, including scheduled maintenance, upgrades, obsolescence, and capacity requirements.
- Ensure that network infrastructure is properly documented and meets architecture designs and standards.
- Worked alongside global partners in a 24x7 environment.
