Accountant will provide financial services and will be required to:

Key Responsibilities

Role Purpose/Job Summary:

  • Perform bookkeeping and performing account reconciliations including resolving discrepancies in financial records.
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) in Xero
  • Prepare and advise on basic and complex Individual Tax Returns, including High Net Worth Individuals, Australian Investment Properties, Sole Traders, Capital Gains Tax, and Investment Income.
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and income tax returns to review stage, including the preparation of detailed working papers for SMEs, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies and Trusts.
  • Conducting tax research and analysis to ensure clients remain compliant with the latest tax legislation and regulations, i.e: ATO, ASIC & other regulatory bodies.
  • Researching technical advice on taxation issues for clients.
  • Liaise with team members to ensure smooth workflow of jobs and tasks within office.
  • Other duties as directed, such as preparation of client engagements, client letters for financial institutions, detailed cash flow forecasts for clients and YTD tax planning for clients.

Qualification

  • With at least 3 years of relevant Australian Accounting experience
  • Minimum 2 years Australian Experience
  • Graduate of bachelor’s degree in accountancy or any related course
  • CPA licensed
  • Can manage accounting and tax compliance jobs from start to finish.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Xero blue (client files), Xero Tax, Xero workpapers and XPM.
  • Competent in using Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to advise on end-of-financial-year tax planning strategies and provide written advice.
  • Strong English, written and verbal communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
