Instructor I - Data Science

Position Summary: The Instructor I in Data Science will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in data science, including foundational topics such as statistics, machine learning, data visualization, and programming languages like Python and R. The instructor will design and deliver engaging lectures, assess student performance, and provide academic support to foster student success. This role requires a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver course materials for undergraduate data science courses.
• Conduct lectures, workshops, and practical labs in data analysis and related topics.
• Mentor and support students in their academic development.
• Assess and grade assignments, exams, and projects.
• Stay current with developments in data science to ensure course content is up-to-date.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or its equivalent

• Demonstrate effective teaching strategies and have at least 1 year experience in teaching, research, industrial work or a combination thereof;

• Proficient in the use of the English language, both written and oral;

• Excellent work attitude and interpersonal skills.

• Must be knowledgeable with different online platforms in conducting online teaching (WebEx, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
