As an Instructional Designer, you will:
- Design and develop various training materials including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), eLearning, eTraining, and video-based content for clients or off-the-shelf products.
- Utilize a range of tools including Microsoft Office suite, Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond, and other relevant software to create engaging and interactive training content.
- Create comprehensive training materials such as facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, eLearning modules, instructional videos, and interactive assessments.
- Consistently build and maintain relationships with subject matter expert groups to gather and effectively incorporate financial markets content into various training modalities.
- Maintain world-class quality standards for all training content, employing fundamental principles of instructional design across different delivery methods.
- Collaborate with different functions within the team and the overall business to ensure training objectives align with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain high-quality storyboards, scripts, and interactive elements for on-demand learning modules.
- Convert existing training materials between different modalities as needed (e.g., adapting instructor-led content for eLearning or virtual delivery).
- Inject the Thomson Reuters brand attributes (human, agile, clear, optimistic) into all training offerings, regardless of the delivery method.
- Continuously build personal knowledge of financial markets, Thomson Reuters products, and the firm's clients to enhance the relevance and accuracy of training materials.
- Stay current with emerging trends in instructional design and educational technology, particularly in tools like Articulate, Camtasia, and Vyond.
- Attend professional courses, seminars, and webinars; read journals and trade publications to gain knowledge of market factors affecting the assigned primary focus area and to enhance skills in various content development tools.
- Ensure all training materials are accessible, engaging, and effective across different learning styles and delivery platforms.
As an Instructional Designer, you should ideally possess the following:
- You contribute to curriculum development projects and are skilled at creating engaging and effective learning materials.
- You adapt your instructional approach and content format based on the specific requirements of each project, whether it's e-learning, instructor-led training, or blended learning.
- You actively participate in internal calibration sessions to ensure alignment and consistency in training delivery and content quality.
- You engage in peer reviews as needed, offering constructive feedback and collaborating to uphold high standards in learning design.
