ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project Officer is responsible for the smooth planning and coordination of multi sectoral programing in covered areas or cluster of barangays/municipalities. He/she will be the primary focal person in organizing and mobilizing partners, stakeholders' and institutions. He/she will be the on-site representative of Save the Children in courtesy meetings/planning with key stakeholders and for barangay officials and the community at large.
1. The post holder is primarily responsible for community engagement and coordination in an assigned SCP geographical area for the promotion of improvements in the health, learning, protection, and participation of the most excluded and vulnerable children through inclusive, responsive, and climate-informed policies, programs, and services.
2. The post holder is responsible in establishing and/or strengthening led the Child-led groups/ networks in his/her assigned area and provide technical support in developing advocacy plan to advocate for children's rights.
3. The post holder will establish and/or strengthened partnership with CSO/networks and support in the development of advocacy plan to advocate for children's rights and support child participation.
4. The post holder oversees and provide technical support to CSO partners to influence the government to address priority issues of children by advocating for access to and demanding for inclusive, responsive, climate-informed, policies, programs, and health services.
5. The post holder will advocate and campaign for child rights to decision-makers to come up with informed-policy decisions using evidenced-based publications. Together with partner Civil Society Organization, he/she will monitor partner Local Government Units and government bodies to ensure that issues and recommendations raised by children from a co-designing process are considered for integration in their plans, policies, and programs for children.
6. The Health Officer will ensure that organized and trained Child-Led Groups continue to campaign for children's access to information and services leading to improved knowledge, attitude and practices on child
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Health, Nutrition, or Social Sciences
- Fluency in English and Filipino, both written and verbal, a must
- Experience in a humanitarian or NGO setting
- Knowledge of Lanao del Sur Province areas
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc)
- With two (2) years experience in Implementing Health Related Program especially immunization.
- Organized, with good attention to detail and developed ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines and organize work
- Ability to work under pressure with high flexibility to abrupt changes and can multitask.
