Your Role:

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly bank and cash transactions
  • Assist with the month end, quarter-end and year-end close process
  • Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining the general ledger and updating supporting schedules and workbooks
  • Support operations teams with accounting-related tasks and reporting
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with ad hoc requests and projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual workpapers, reconciliations and reports
  • Participation in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and key financial accounts
  • Prior involvement in ad-hoc analytical deliverables and other special projects
  • Ability to evaluate existing processes to improve through automation or procedural changes

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree; Preferred Field of Study: Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills with attention to detail
  • Work in a team environment yet think independently and generate quality work product with little supervision

  • Ability to approach work from both a “transaction” basis and “task” basis
  • Understanding of real estate finance including debt and equity structures
  • High level understanding of balance sheets and income statements
  • Ability to create clear and concise work product

  • Analytical skills to understand complex commercial loan documents
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate ‘face to face’ as a team player
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment running multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to quickly come up to speed on the business and culture
