FINANCE MANAGER & CONTROLLER

Role Objective

To serve as the strategic financial lead for the Cebu office, providing high-level oversight of all local expenditures, payroll, and fund management. You will act as the primary auditor for local operations, ensuring strict internal controls are met while managing the daily financial workflow in coordination with the US Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight & Auditing: Review and approve all local expenses processed by accounting. Conduct weekly/monthly spot audits, vendor payments, and receipts to ensure zero discrepancies.
  • Fund Management (Treasury): Oversee the request and handling of operational funds transfer from the US. Ensure funds are allocated strictly according to budget. Manage local banking relationships.
  • Payroll Control: Audit the payroll computations prepared by the staff before final disbursement. Ensure accuracy in overtime, night differential, and holiday pay in accordance with Philippine Labor Law.
  • Compliance & Tax: Ensure the company is 100% compliant with Philippine government agencies (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG). Manage annual renewals and tax filings to prevent penalties.
  • Reporting: Prepare the "Cebu Packet" for the US Accounting teama clean, reconciled month-end report of all PH operations expenses, categorized correctly for the US General Ledger.
  • Budgeting: Assist the US Owner in creating the operational budget for the Cebu office and track variance (Actual vs. Budget) monthly.

Requirements

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant): Must hold a valid CPA license in the Philippines.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 3 years in a Managerial or Controller role.
  • Industry Background: Prior experience in a BPO or Shared Services environment is highly preferred (understanding the dynamic of US funding vs. PH spending).
  • Integrity: Impeccable professional reputation with a strong understanding of internal controls and fraud prevention.
  • Tools: Expert proficiency in Excel and familiarity with US-standard accounting software (QuickBooks Online).
