Equity Trader

About the Role

As an Equity Trader, you will be managing the bank’s equity trading position. Formulates trading strategies based on market outlook. Tasked to generate revenues for the bank.

How you'll contribute

• Checks and verifies management profitability report from Financial Control Division to generate revenues for the bank.
• Monitors actual profit and loss performance and accounts for any variance to verify the numbers from Financial Control Division with Treasury’s estimates.
• Formulates trading strategies based on market outlook through Bloomberg, Reuters and other sources of information to generate revenues for the bank.
• Monitors and retrieves relevant financial news, and rates news through Bloomberg, Reuters and other sources of information to formulate a view on the equity market.
• Monitors the equity markets through Bloomberg, Reuters and other sources of information a view on the equity market.
• Creates proprietary equity trading positions to generate revenues for the bank.
• Generates daily equity transaction summary to accurately track gains and losses from equity transactions.

What we’re looking for

• Preferably with 1-2 years of experience in trading equities
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Business Studies/Administration/Management
• Has to have a basic understanding of the co-dependent relationship of equity trading team with all the other desks within Treasury.
• Has an understanding of the equity markets and compliance to regulatory requirements. Has an understanding of the equity markets, the key levers that drive profitability.
• Can work with the other traders in Treasury, Compliance, Financial Control Division and Risk.
• Ability to attain income and volume targets.
