Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years in IT/architecture roles, including 3+ years in enterprise architecture.
- Experience in telecom industry architecture (BSS/OSS) and/or digital platform transformation in a tech context.
- TOGAF or relevant architecture certification preferred.
- Any of the following certifications are desired, but not required:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- PMP or Agile certifications are a plus
- Strong understanding of telco systems and domains including BSS/OSS, CRM, billing, catalog, and orchestration.
- Knowledgeable in modern software architecture patterns:
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD) for aligning technical design with business domains.
- Onion/Hexagonal/Clean Architecture for creating maintainable, loosely coupled systems.
- Microservices and event-driven architecture for modular, scalable service decomposition.
- API-first and composable architecture to enable partner ecosystems and digital marketplaces.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), serverless architecture, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Integration patterns using REST, GraphQL, event streaming (Kafka), and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, NATS).
- CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms and data architecture:
- Identity and access management (IAM), data lakes, real-time analytics, and master data management (MDM).
- Understanding of TM Forum frameworks and how they apply in the context of modern digital service architecture.
- Strategic Architecture Leadership
- Define and evolve the enterprise architecture strategy that supports the telco-to-tech transformation.
- Align architecture with business goals such as digital service agility, network virtualization, partner integration, and customer experience.
- Modernization & Integration- Design target architectures for cloud migration, API-first integration, data platform modernization, and edge computing.
- Develop transition roadmaps from legacy BSS/OSS to microservices, SaaS platforms, and composable architectures.
- Ensure interoperability between telco-grade systems and new digital platforms (e.g., CRM, CPQ, Customer 360).
- Governance & Standards- Establish architecture principles, reference models, and reusable patterns.
- Lead architecture governance across delivery teams to ensure compliance, performance, and security.
- Advocate TM Forum standards (e.g., Open APIs, SID, eTOM) where applicable.
- Collaboration & Execution Support- Partner with solution architects, product managers, engineering, and operations teams to embed architectural thinking into delivery.
- Translate complex architecture decisions into actionable design and implementation plans.
- Support platform teams with technical oversight on design decisions and service blueprinting.
- Technology Scouting & Innovation
- - Work closely with business, infrastructure, security, development, and operations teams
- -Engage with project managers and business analysts to align scope, timelines, and architecture decisions
- Act as a technical advisor to leadership and project teams
- Security & Compliance- Identify emerging technologies (e.g., 5G monetization, AI/ML, network slicing, Open RAN) for enterprise-wide enablement.
- Lead POCs and pilots to validate innovative approaches and support data-driven decision-making.Mentorship & Capability Building- Coach junior architects, developers, and engineers in architectural principles and design thinking
- Lead architecture review boards and promote knowledge sharing
- Develop and deliver architecture-related training sessions or workshops
