UCT is looking for a talented Engineer III - Fixtures Design Engineer to join us in Cebu!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Engage with internal stakeholders to align design objectives and requirements, fostering collaboration across production, process, quality, product, and R&D teams.
• Ensure that designs meet functional, performance and technology requirements.
• Lead critical design reviews and final design reviews to evaluate the feasibility, functionality, and integrity of design solutions, ensuring alignment with design objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Execute timely and precise data uploads to the PLM system, ensuring all information is correctly formatted and aligned with organizational standards and requirements.
• Implement cost-effective design strategies to optimize project budgets while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting client requirements.
• Prioritize producibility in production drawings, optimizing design elements to streamline manufacturing processes and reduce production costs.
• Ensure timely delivery of design solutions by adhering to project schedules, proactively managing tasks, and optimizing workflow efficiency.
• Effectively coordinate tasks and projects from a remote location, utilizing communication and collaboration tools to maintain productivity and accountability.
• Availability to travel or relocate as needed to support project requirements and business needs.
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Candidate should possess proficiency in SolidWorks, Office, SAP etc.
• The candidate should be proficient in fixture design and jigs, ensuring the development of efficient and effective solutions for supporting workpieces during manufacturing processes, inspections, and special processes such as welding, electropolishing, marking etc...
• Candidate must have a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks and deliverables.
• Provide inventive problem-solving skills, offering creative solutions to challenges that arise during process development and implementation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in remote work practices, effectively managing tasks and communication while maintaining productivity in a virtual work environment.
• The candidate should possess strong English proficiency to effectively communicate with plants located in other countries.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Able to work with ambiguity, be highly independent and willing to take initiative, challenge, and responsibilities.
  
  

Education:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, along with relevant experience in fixture design and manufacturing processes.
  
  

Experience:

• Five years or more of experience as a design Engineer of jigs and fixtures.
