We are seeking a dredging & reclamation lead to become part of our site-based team at the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project in between the Cavitex highway and Bacoor (Philippines), overseeing the construction of a landmark reclamation project. What you do as a Dredging & Reclamation Lead
The dredging and reclamation lead will be reporting to the engineer’s representative at site. The dredging & reclamation lead will be part of and managing the supervision of the dredging and reclamation works undertaken by the contractor by trailing suction hopper dredger (vessel) for the supply of sand and the soil improvement at the reclamation area. The dredging & reclamation lead will be working at the site office and the general tasks and responsibilities will include amongst others:
- manage and coordinate the supervision of the dredging and reclamation works by the contractor at site ensuring the safety, quantity, and quality of the works undertaken
- supports in the review of the contractor's submissions including plans, design reports, drawings, Materials Approval Submittal (MAS), Method Statements (MS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Risk Assessments (RA), technical proposals, etc., ensuring that they comply with the contract conditions, applicable laws and regulations, the specifications, the engineer’s representative’s (ER’s) instructions and best practices
- ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulations, such as ACI, ASTM, and OSHA
- review and verify the accuracy of works according to drawings, plans, and reports
- coordinate and communicate with the contractors, engineers, and clients, to resolve any issues or discrepancies
- identify and report any defects, damages, or deviations from the project requirements
- recommend and implement corrective actions and preventive measures
- document and maintain records of inspection activities and results, using forms, checklists, photos, and software
- prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports, highlighting the progress, problems, and solutions of the concrete construction works
- provide technical guidance and support to staff and trainees, on the methods and procedures of inspection

The project involves dredging and reclamation works for the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project (BRDP) at Bacoor (Philippines). Haskoning is the engineer of the project and is supervising the dredging and reclamation works undertaken by a contractor based on a FIDIC Construct Only type of contract. You will become part of the BRDP Construction Management and Supervision team led by an internationally experienced engineer’s representative supported by 14 inspectors, surveyors, and engineers. What you bring
As the dredging & reclamation lead, you will be managing and supervising our team of inspectors at site, supervising the dredging and reclamation works. For this position, you need to have the following competencies/skills:
- minimum bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or any other related course
- 10 to 20 years' industry experience
- experience in dredging and reclamation works
- preferably experience working within an engineering consultancy
- quality and safety consciousness
- strong in record keeping
- analytical thinker and strong problem solver
- excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal)
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- team player, versatile, and energetic
- adept at working in a digital way
- proficient in Microsoft suite of applications, HSE reporting, and documentation
