Purpose of Role:

Join ESCO’s Manila Engineering Design Team as a Design Engineer – Dimensional Gaging.

In this role, you’ll support global engineering efforts by designing innovative, high-quality products that enhance our manufacturing capabilities. You'll use advanced engineering tools in a collaborative environment to solve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero-harm behaviors in support of our drive toward developing a world-class safety culture.

  • Design complex machined tool steel gages used in manufacturing to quickly and clearly verify that casting products meet dimensional specifications.
  • Optimize existing gage designs to enhance quality and safety, improve durability, and reduce costs.
  • Conduct iterative testing to ensure accuracy and troubleshoot configuration issues.
  • Analyze product fit and assembly designs and provide guidance to product engineering on best practices.
  • Review dimensional inspection results for individual parts, production batches, gages, and casting products.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure proper fit, form, and function of components.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to validate design intent and ensure manufacturability.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet goals

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (preferred) or a related field. Strong academic foundation in engineering principles and practices.
  • At least 4 years of design experience in the mining or construction or manufacturing industry. Proven track record in new product development and engineering analysis.
  • In complex 3D parametric CAD software (NX preferred). Familiarity with inspection tools and systems (e.g., CMM, laser scanning).
