Job Summary

The Dental Billing Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently handling the billing and insurance-related tasks within a dental practice. This includes reviewing patient bills, preparing and submitting claims, following up on unpaid claims, verifying insurance coverage, and performing data entry.


Responsibilities

• Review patient bills for accuracy, completeness, and obtain any missing information.

• Reviews patient accounts and determining appropriate billing distributions

•Prepare, review, and transmit claims using Denticon billing software, including electronic claim processing.

• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.

• Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.

• Verify eligibility of patient's coverage by contacting insurance companies (minimum of 55 insurances per day).

• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.

• Collects co-pays, issues receipts, post payments and reconcile receipts.

• Perform accurate data entry for billing and insurance purposes.


Qualifications and Requirements

• Knowledgeable in reviewing and submitting claims, with specific experience in dental billing procedures.

• Familiarity with dental terminologies and procedures.

• Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to handle multiple demands effectively and accurately.

• Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate with diverse staff and customers.

• Capable of performing data entry and utilizing basic Microsoft Excel formulas.

• Skilled in making decisions and resolving issues through critical thinking and analysis.

• Willingness to work on a graveyard shift (2am PHT, Tue-Sat).


Screening Criteria

• At least one (1) year of medical or dental billing experience.

• At least six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in performing inbound/outbound calls.

• At least six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in calling insurance companies for insurance verification.

• Must have stable employment history
