Description


We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Compliance Manager to join our team in Leyte/Cebu, Philippines. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, data protection laws (including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and potentially GDPR), and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of legal frameworks, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage compliance risks across various business functions


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including data privacy laws.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
  • Serve as the company's Data Protection Officer (DPO).
  • Handle data privacy inquiries and complaints.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams on data protection practices.
  • Train employees on compliance and data privacy.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Bachelor's degree in Technology or Legal; certifications in compliance or data protection a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, preferably in a BPO or corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine laws, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
  • Understanding of GDPR and international data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal texts.
