Role Description

The Compliance Associate (CA) will join the Helmi Talib Groups Corporate Services team who work to support the delivery of Accounting and Finance projects to a client portfolio of a broad range of industries based across the US, EMEA and Asia.

Reporting to the Corporate Secretary (Senior Executive), the CA will provide assistance to manage a portfolio of international clients ensuring compliance with relevant company statutory legislations and regulations.

He/ She will also assist the Director for Business Services to ensure compliance with governing laws on taxation. He/She will also manage internal corporate secretarial functions and dealings with Philippine government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all relevant statutory obligations are met, business interests of the company are protected, and good corporate governance is practiced.
  • Assist in filing the companys annual accounts, maintaining, and updating the following: Company statutory registers and records, Notice of share transfers, Amendments to Constitution, Notice of removal or resignation of auditors and Change of registered office address and any other international regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the Corporate Secretary to arrange for Annual General Meetings in compliance with the Companies Act and the company's constitution.
  • Help implementing good corporate governance practices within the company.
  • Provides assistance to Director of Business Services to manage local corporate secretarial functions and dealings with government agencies such as Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE), and other local regulatory bodies by ensuring the following:
  • Coordinate with BIR and local government agencies for regulatory compliance such as permits and registrations.
  • Assist with the preparation of BIR reports, including withholding tax forms, and ensure that they are submitted on time.
  • Maintain a list of government registration renewals and fees to ensure that payments and the relevant paperwork are submitted accurately.
  • File and make payments for employee benefits with government agencies including but not limited to PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and SSS contributions.
  • Assist in filling and preparing tax computation for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual tax returns.
  • Execute general office administration, which includes managing purchase orders, stationery and pantry supply and journal and magazine subscriptions.
  • Assist with other duties which may be legal, accounting/finance, human resource, general administration, or general management in nature.


Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Business Administration/ Business-related or Law degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in corporate secretarial experience with knowledge in dealing with government agencies such as Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE), and other local regulatory bodies.
  • Strong Knowledge in Statutory Benefits and Requirements
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are essential
  • Proficient in BGL system or Corporate Secretarial Software
  • Must be organised, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Responsible, accountable, and discreet with sensitive/confidential information.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
