Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Ministry Coordinator role functions as an integral part of the Spiritual Ministry Department, focusing on the implementation of community outreach and engagement programs. The primary role of this position is to assist the Spiritual Director and the spiritual team in engaging with community leaders, pastors, and churches to create awareness of the CURE mission, advocate for disability inclusion, and provide pastoral care for patients and their families beyond the hospital campus. The focus is to ensure patients and their families receive continued spiritual and emotional support upon discharge by connecting them with local faith-based resources and community networks for further spiritual care and support systems. This role complements the overall realization of the spiritual ministry goals and aligns with the broader objectives of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- In consultation with the Spiritual Department leadership, coordinate the department’s outreach programs like community visits and evangelism, outreach campaigns, community advocacy events, etc.
- In consultation with the Spiritual Department leadership, coordinates the recruitment, empowerment, and retention of partners through training, strategic partnership meetings, and mentorship.
- In strengthening community relationships, communicate with the ministry partners and former patients/patients’ families for the spiritual growth assessment.
- Coordinates spiritual follow-ups of patients and their caretakers within the said outreach programs.
- Serving as a community liaison between the hospital and local religious organizations and churches.
- Building connections between the CURE hospital and the community, to make the hospital a more visible presence in the community.
- Coordinating and leading occasional outreach events.
- Coordinating and liaising with other clergy in all denominations of faiths.
- Developing and implementing an outreach strategy for the hospital in order to achieve the set goals and objectives.
- Ensuring that effective and appropriate patterns of communication are maintained in the outreach community activities and keeping effective regular communication with the Spiritual Director.
- Consulting, and promoting open discussion; facilitating reciprocal sharing of information with key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Attending occasional outreach conferences and/or training seminars.
- Facilitating access to relevant faith-based literature, books, and bibles in the outreach programs for patients and families.
- Facilitating outreach related data collection and monthly report writing for presentation to the Spiritual Director.
- As an integral member of the Spiritual team, participate in scheduled departmental meetings, ward ministry, coworkers’ discipleship activities i.e. departmental devotions, chapel etc.
- Work with the rest of team members to achieve the other set goals and objectives for the department.
- Participate in any other duty assigned by the Spiritual Ministry leadership.
OTHER DUTIES
- Uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in line with hospital quality programs (e.g. Safecare, DOH, etc.) requirements.
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment by strictly adhering to infection prevention and control protocols such as but not limited to handwashing, wearing of PPE, etc.
- Commit to sustainable and eco-friendly work practices by minimizing waste, optimizing resource usage and actively participating in initiatives that promote environmental stewardship.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Education Required: Graduate of Bachelor of any 4-year course
- License/Certificate Required: Professional Driver’s License
- Minimum Experience Required: Over 2 years of experience in hospital-related ministry in areas of evangelism, discipleship, counseling, and bible study

- Team Collaboration: Working with the Spiritual Ministry team and contributing to the overall spiritual care and guidance provided.
- Flexible and Adaptable: Being willing to assist in various capacities as needed, whether it's supporting group activities, coordinating logistics, or providing one-on-one guidance.
- Professionalism: Maintaining a professional demeanor and adhering to ethical guidelines in all interactions with those seeking spiritual guidance.
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultures, different faiths, or at different places
- Good communication skills and customer care attitude
- Ability to speak/ write English and local languages fluently
- Able to drive a motorcycle and a 4-wheel car
- Willingness to travel to mobile clinics as needed.
