About the role


We are excited to announce a job opportunity for a Coordinator - Communications role on a 12-month contract to join the esteemed GBS team in our Manila office in Pasig City on a hybrid working setup.


This Coordinator - Communications role is integral to implementing Orica's employee engagement and internal communications strategy. It involves assisting with the planning and execution of employee events that align with the priorities of the GBS Leadership, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Plan, and various Social and Community resource groups. By supporting these initiatives, the role helps foster a cohesive and inclusive workplace environment.


The position is also responsible for maintaining the channels used for distributing Orica GBS communications. This ensures that all internal communications are effectively managed and disseminated, keeping employees informed and engaged with the company's activities and updates.


What you will be doing


The Coordinator – Communications role is essential for planning, organizing, and overseeing a variety of internal events that align with endorsed strategies to enhance employee engagement, foster connectivity, and promote company culture. You will assist in creating, proofreading, and coordinating employee communications within internal channels, ensuring that content is maintained and published across key platforms such as the intranet, website, and social media.


You will also be involved in stewarding the Orica corporate brand and associated collateral, supporting organizational change initiatives through effective communication with cross-functional teams, and briefing and gaining approval from program and event owners.


This position will also provide administrative support for events, including coordinating attendance, assessing stakeholder needs, and procuring necessary services and consumables. It also involves coordinating logistical arrangements for visits and community events, supporting the administration of the Orica Investment fund grant for local community support, and ensuring SHES policy compliance in all communications and events. Developing and maintaining good relationships with project teams and other key stakeholders is also a crucial aspect of this role, ensuring seamless collaboration and successful execution of initiatives.


What you will bring


  • Degree in Communications or at least 2-3 years' experience in event management is preferred.
  • Candidates with Canva and other video editing software skills are preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate prior experience in a similar role coordinating events and administering employee engagement programs, achieving agreed plans and outcomes.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrates courage, resilience and flexibility and strong reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character
  • Solid interpersonal & communication skills and be able to work independently with only targeted supervision
  • Productive without compromising quality and is self-aware and open to feedback
