Your Role:

As a Civil Estimator, You Will

• Oversee preparation of estimates and tender submissions
• Research construction/design documents and analyse specifications for accurate costing
• Ensure estimates include detailed labor, materials, timing, and cost structures
• Review risks and opportunities in bid documents and present these to management
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotations
• Recommend cost reduction strategies for more competitive proposals
• Identify and evaluate technical issues related to projects
• Complete forecast and tender cost reporting
• Ensure contract, commercial, and legislative obligations are met in tender processes
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the estimating team
• Contribute to continuous improvement and business optimization efforts
• Uphold health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in all work activities
  
  

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience as a Civil Estimator or similar role
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Ability to prepare tender submissions, cost estimates, and basic schedules
• Strong ability to interpret contractual documents, drawings, and specifications
• Experience preparing/responding to RFIs and clarifications
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong decision-making, confidentiality, and customer service orientation
  
  

Preferred skills/expertise

• Postgraduate Degree
• Experience within the civil/construction industry
• Experience working remotely in a FIFO setup
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder influencing skills
• High resilience and adaptability
