About The Role
A mission-driven financial organization is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to lead its technology strategy and execution. The ideal candidate brings deep experience from the fintech sector and understands how to build scalable, secure, and user-friendly platforms that support both operational growth and financial inclusion. This is a key leadership role for someone who knows how to balance innovation with reliability in a fast-evolving sector.
Key Responsibilities
Define and lead the company’s overall technology strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and customer needs.
Oversee core technology functions including software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT operations.
Guide the design and development of digital financial products, platforms, and tools that serve a large and distributed customer base.
Lead modernization efforts, including migrating from legacy systems and adopting cloud-based solutions.
Build and mentor a capable, agile technology team with strong engineering and operational discipline.
Partner with other executives to support data-driven decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure successful delivery of outsourced technology projects.
Stay ahead of trends in digital finance, security, and emerging technologies that can support financial inclusion.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, including 3+ years in fintech.
Proven success in building and scaling digital financial platforms (e.g., lending, payments, mobile banking).
Strong knowledge of systems architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar), and cybersecurity.
Experience integrating with third-party services and managing complex IT environments.
Track record of leading high-performing teams through change, growth, and digital transformation.
Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s is a plus).
Preferred
Experience working with financial services for underserved communities or in emerging markets.
Familiarity with regulatory environments, data privacy laws, and digital KYC.
Passion for using technology to drive financial access and inclusion.
