Your Role

• Perform take-offs on prints, determine material needs, determine material costs, enter these into our quoting system, communicate item detail for final quote generation.
• Get quotes for outsourced items, contracted activities and non-standard items used for the job.
• Generate shop drawings in AutoCAD or VisualCAD based on the architectural drawings and work with customers to get them approved.
• Learn/Utilize Mozaik for drawing casework.
• Generate cut lists to build items (we have software that does this for casework, rest may need to be done in excel or AutoCAD).
• Build DXF and CNC files.
• Interface with manufacturing to express design intent.
• Interface with manufacturing and customer for project color approvals.
• Build a packing list based on the quote and include all the items needed to complete the job.
• Assist with ordering material for the job as needed.
• Coordinate contracted activities with manufacturing such as metal fabrication, granite or installation.
• Review actual material usages after job finishes to improve quality of quotes going forward.
• If an electrical engineer, assist with electrical troubleshooting of shop equipment. If not, then disregard. (Wish list item)
• Assist in developing a facility plan for new equipment, upgrades and general preventative maintenance plans. (Wish list item)
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

What You Need:

• Understand woodworking or some closely related fabrication manufacturing (like metal).
• Must speak and understand English.
• Must understand prints/construction methods.
• Must be able to translate the prints into final drawings including with parts dimensions (requires candidate to know how it will be built before drawing so that their drawing doesn’t represent something that cannot be built).
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the same field.
