Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Manager who will work directly with the CEO to build the foundation of a data-driven culture across White Cloak.
This is not a typical reporting or dashboarding role — it’s a transformational position designed for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can turn qualitative chaos into measurable structure, and can operationalize insights into repeatable learning systems.
You will:
- Design and implement KPI frameworks across departments
- Develop data pipelines and dashboards that make key metrics visible and actionable
- Institutionalize experimentation — defining how teams measure success, test ideas, and learn from data
- Work side-by-side with leadership to ensure every project and initiative moves the right needle
Key Responsibilities
1. Metrics & KPI Architecture
- Partner with department heads to identify what success looks like and how to measure it
- Define and document company-wide KPI frameworks and data taxonomies
- Establish data sources, ownership, and regular cadence for metric reviews
2. Data Analysis & Visualization
- Build and maintain dashboards that monitor business performance (using tools like Looker Studio, Power BI, or Notion dashboards)
- Analyze and interpret key trends, identifying opportunities and bottlenecks
- Present findings directly to the CEO and leadership team to guide strategic decisions
3. Experimentation & Learning Systems
- Operationalize the company’s Experimentation Framework — ensuring every team can test, measure, and learn efficiently
- Collaborate with teams to design controlled experiments (A/B tests, pilot rollouts, etc.)
- Track outcomes, synthesize insights, and recommend next steps based on data evidence
4. Process Design & Adoption
- Create lightweight systems and SOPs for data tracking and reporting
- Drive adoption across teams through documentation, workshops, and 1:1 coaching
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in how metrics are defined and used across the organization
5. Strategic Partnership
- Act as the CEO’s data thought-partner, turning questions into measurable frameworks
- Provide clear narratives from data to influence strategic and operational priorities
- Help leadership transition from intuition-driven to insight-driven decisions
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Haves:
- 3–7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Strategy
- Strong command of SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Proven experience designing KPI frameworks and setting up data pipelines or dashboards
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills — able to translate abstract goals into measurable indicators
- Excellent communication skills — capable of simplifying complex findings into actionable insights for non-technical teams
- Hands-on, self-starter attitude: comfortable both designing the strategy and doing the work
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience building or institutionalizing experimentation systems (A/B testing, product experiments, marketing growth loops, etc.)
- Previous experience in a startup, consulting, or tech services environment
- Familiarity with business functions like recruitment funnels, marketing attribution, project delivery KPIs, etc.
Success in 6 Months Looks Like
- Company-wide KPI framework defined and documented
- Core dashboards built for at least 2 departments (e.g. Recruitment, Sales)
- Experimentation and learning cadence established and running
- Leadership reviews guided by clear, data-driven insights
- Noticeable improvement in decision speed and accuracy through measurable feedback loops
