Position Description / Key and Responsibilities:
Brand Manager –is responsible for the development, implement and execution of operational plans that optimizes sales, market share and revenue growth for a brand or set brands in short and long term.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales and earnings targets for brands and product under direct supervision
- Brand Planning: consolidated annual brand/species Marketing Plans to provide a reference document for budgeting, forecasting, and for strategic and tactical direction.
- Implement the marketing plans in alignment with Global and Regional strategies.
- Budgetary Management: Brands are supported by an Advertising and Promotions (A&P) budget, used to fund campaigns and promotions. It is the responsibility of the Brand Manager to manage this budget, to ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
- Operate within Promotional Practices (GPP) process and outcomes.
- Work closely with the Sales and Technical team to provide appropriate support and training to ensure the optimal local implementation of the marketing plan
- Presenting commercial and technical information to internal and external audiences.
- Production & Sales Forecasting – working with Technical Operations, Regulatory and Customer Services to ensure sufficient stocks available to meet sales targets, whilst meeting inventory objectives, to manage capital costs.
- Manage brand and product pricing, exposure and price control.
- Build metrics to track success and identify gaps versus planned outcomes.
- Collect market intelligence and proactively develop initiatives to address local issues and ensure business results.
- Promote the Elanco brand internally and externally to build engagement.
- Build and maintain business relationships with key opinion leaders and strategic accounts.
- Education: Degree level either life science or business qualification. MBA or professional marketing qualification desirable.
- Empathy and passion for the veterinary animal health business
- Demonstrable passion for marketing
- 1+ years proven marketing experience with focus on product/brand management
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively with teams and various functional areas such as research, development, marketing services, finance, customer service, and business development.
- Strong analytical and presentation skills with attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and drive to achieve positive results.
- Strong business, analytical and presentation skills.
- Good communication, networking and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (including English—written and verbal).
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken), able to communicate clearly and succinctly to all levels within the organization; able to establish and maintain credibility within Lilly
- Possess Senior led influence across many functions, having the ability to translate strategic opportunities into operational plans and manage for optimal results through influence
- Clear understanding of commercialization, development and support functions related to the regional and business unit strategy
- Excellent project management skills and demonstrated experience managing both small and complex projects and instill discipline to the team meeting key milestones and deadlines in all projects/ initiatives.
- Demonstrate advanced strategic conceptual thinking capability and strong analytical/problem-solving skills to anticipate and recognize systemic problems, diagnose root causes and work with functional leadership to influence corrective actions
- High flexibility to adjust quickly and effectively to frequent change and altered priorities, and able to work under pressure and compliance with strict deadlines
- Demonstrate commitment to company values with a high level of demonstrated professionalism, integrity and trust
- Demonstrated success managing effective teams in complex business environments and establish team credibility and facilitate operational agreement
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint is an advantage.
