Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement engineering policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with property management, leasing, and administrative teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building operations and safety.
  • Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget, including expenses for maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Monitor and control expenditures to stay within budgetary constraints.
  • Evaluate and approve purchase requests for equipment and supplies.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering projects, including upgrades, renovations, and new installations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and tenants.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any identified hazards or deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventories, and project documentation.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on engineering activities, budget performance, and project status.
  • Utilize property management software to track work orders, preventive maintenance, and other tasks.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field).
  • Professional Engineer license is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property management or building engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
