Audit Lead (Pasig City)

MANDATE:

• Oversee and manage assigned audit activities and responsibilities.
• Provide support to the Senior Unit Head in achieving team objectives.
• Coach and guide auditors to ensure clear understanding of relevant policies and principles.
• Monitor and support the career development of auditors through appropriate training and mentorship.
• Ensure that all audit activities under supervision comply with applicable Auditing Standards, the Internal Audit Charter, and the Audit Manual.

KEW DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Senior Unit Head in assigning and scheduling auditors for specific engagements, considering their experience, developmental needs, and the requirements of each task.
• Conduct audits involving highly confidential matters and perform special investigations as requested by management.
• Support the development of audit team members by facilitating on-the-job and in-house training, and ensuring they are updated on current bank policies and procedures.
• Provide performance feedback for auditors who have participated in engagements under their supervision.
• Respond to inquiries from bank officers and representatives of other units regarding audit-related matters, and explain auditing principles, functions, and concepts.
• Ensure audit issues and recommendations are discussed with management and appropriately monitored until resolved.
• Deliver and supervise assigned audit engagements, ensuring that work papers and related deliverables comply with applicable standards and requirements.
• Mentor audit team members in conducting audit activities and procedures, and stay informed of new techniques, governmental laws, regulations, and standards relevant to internal auditing to ensure procedures remain current.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in internal and/or external auditing.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is an advantage.
• Strong background in operational/internal auditing and/or experience in the banking industry.
• External auditing experience relevant to the banking industry is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of business principles and environments.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address critical issues effectively.
