Position Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient NodeJS applications.
- Write clean, modular, and reusable code following Manulife best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed applications.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues and bugs reported by users or identified through monitoring tools.
- Implement updates and patches to ensure security and functionality of applications.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.
- Document technical specifications, processes, and changes for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software development and deployment.
- 1-2 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and NodeJS, with a solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
- Knowledge of database systems, both SQL (e.g. MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, CosmosDB).
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their services.
