The Role: Senior Financial Analyst

The Team: Global Real Estate is responsible for the overall real estate operations for S&P Global. Working closely with CBRE, our 3rd party property manager, the team provides state-of-the-art workplace environments adhering to an overall corporate standard. The centralized team is continually looking to improve efficiencies by providing consistent and high-level service.

The Impact: The EMEA senior financial analyst is a critical role in the financial management and developing S&P Global’ portfolio in these regions. The Global Real Estate team as well as the business segments will rely on the financial analysis and data compiled by this position to make strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare EMEA accounting close along with financial reporting including journal entries, balance sheet, and operating statement account reconciliations.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reporting packages and perform general ledger research
  • Prepare and present forecasts, reporting and analysis related to the annual budget and monthly estimate process
  • Work directly in all S&P Global supporting financial systems to prepare and produce analysis including CoStar. Costar is used to validate and prepare the financial reporting requirements for ASC 842 and IRFS 16 based on the amortization schedules of the existing portfolio of leases
  • Work closely with the Global Real Estate team including the Senior Director of Operations EMEA, the CBRE team, and Regional/Local Controllers in achieving set goals and executing on projects
  • Build and maintain strong business partner relationship with the Senior Director of Operations EMEA to ensure alignment of regional budgets/forecasts with strategic objectives
  • Assist in the preparation of special projects including the GRE Balance Sheet quarterly report, cash flow appropriation requests and location code changes
  • Assist with quarterly and annual internal controls review and documentation along with fulfilling all audit inquiries for the EMEA region
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting projects and analysis for various stakeholders across Global Real Estate and Finance
  • Uses broader knowledge of financial principles and theories and the organizations to improve processes

Basic Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related curriculum
  • CPA/MBA, preferred
  • Organized, responsible and committed
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues and ideas
  • Extensive Microsoft Excel knowledge and expertise
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills (i.e. proactive problem solver), and an inquisitive mind. Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team
  • Comfortable managing the delivery of high-quality outputs with overlapping deadlines and tight time constraints
  • Experience with SAP Ariba, Oracle and Anaplan preferred
  • Willingness to learn CoStar, Alteryx, and Tableau
  • Able to travel 10% for yearly budget review meetings preferred
  • Ability to work EMEA or US shift hours
