Accounting Team Manager (Offshore Accounting Manager)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Team Manager to lead our offshore accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance, with proven leadership experience in managing teams. This role requires expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting, as well as proficiency with financial software such as QuickBooks, R365, or Xero.

The Accounting Team Manager will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with US GAAP and tax regulations, and drive efficiency through process improvements and technology integration. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring high performance and continuous professional growth.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture that encourages efficiency and accuracy.
• Oversee team workflows, manage workloads, and ensure timely completion of financial reports.
  
  
  

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Oversee preparation and accuracy of client financial reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and US accounting standards.
• Identify process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
  
  
  

Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls

• Develop and enforce strong internal controls to ensure data integrity and identify fraud.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
  
  
  

Technical & System Expertise

• Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, R365, or Xero for accounting operations.
• Implement automation and technology-driven solutions to optimize accounting processes.
• Oversee the creation and development of data analytics tools (e.g., Syft) for enhanced financial reporting.
  
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with senior management, US account managers, and other departments to align financial strategies, workflow processes, and deadlines.
• Communicate financial insights and recommendations to support US accountants and clients.
• Collaborate with senior management, ensuring smooth financial operations across all teams.
  
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CA are highly preferred.
  
  
  

Experience

• 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
• 3-5 years of managerial or supervisory experience leading accounting teams.
• Experience working for US or European companies, with an understanding of international accounting standards.
• Industry-specific experience in restaurant accounting is a plus.

• Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and tax regulations.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with QuickBooks, R365, Xero, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling).
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to lead a team, manage performance, and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Project & Change Management: Experience managing transitions, implementing new accounting systems, and improving financial processes.
