We're Hiring! – Accounting Assistant (Freight Forwarding Industry)

Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST)

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry? We’re looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our growing team! If you enjoy working with numbers, ensuring accuracy, and keeping financial operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do:

• Process, scan, and accurately record vendor invoices in the correct accounting period
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, including contra settlements
• Handle weekly payment runs (ACH, wire transfers, checks)
• Reconcile intercompany accounts monthly
• Perform accurate data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment and invoice discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies
• Assist in reconciling corporate credit card statements and reporting
• Reconcile bank statements and internal ledgers
• Support monthly financial reports and external audits
• Maintain updated vendor information, including W-9s and banking details

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in accounting within a freight forwarding or logistics company
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Solid skills in payment processing, reconciliations, and invoicing
• Proficiency in accounting software and data entry
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Good communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Experience using Descartes
