Flip.Shop, a dynamic e-commerce company, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Daily/Weekly Tasks:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Review and approve invoices in Bill.com
• Manage payroll reporting in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Reconcile 401K between Rippling and 401K provider.
• Clear payroll-related transactions from Bank Feed in QBO
• Provide support to Flip Accounting Staff for Bill.com/QBO/Accounting processes
• Reconciliation projects
  

Monthly Close:

• Create/review month-end journal entries
• Review monthly GL to ensure all entries are coded to the correct accounts
• Process UPS Invoices: Download invoices/CSV files from portal, sort for prior month accruals, communicate accrual info via Slack, record invoices in Bill.com, mark as paid, sync to QBO, and match transactions
• Review payroll journal entries and accruals for accuracy and month-over-month fluctuations
• Process Brex employee reimbursements: Download and process files, compare to prior months, create journal entries in QBO, reconcile statements
• Review and reconcile prepaid/accrual tracker to balance sheet accounts
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including Bill.com Clearing, Payroll Clearing, and Payroll Accrual
  
  

Year-End Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file 1099 forms
• Prepare and file 3921 forms
• Conduct year-end clean-up for taxes
• Prepare tax package
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
• Proficiency in excel, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Netsuite and other financial software
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of inventory process
  
  

Required Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
• Experience with e-commerce accounting and related platforms
• Knowledge of payroll processes, taxes, payroll reconciliations and systems (e.g., Rippling)
• Familiarity with expense management tools (e.g., Brex)
• Experience with Bill.com and Account Payables
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
