Description
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end closing procedures
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and documentation in compliance with IFRS/PFRS standards
- Handle payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee compensation tracking using established systems
- Ensure compliance with national and local tax regulations including preparation and filing of various tax returns
- Support government compliance initiatives including government requirements, regulatory filings, and administrative documentation
- Assist with audit preparation and serve as primary liaison with external auditors and tax professionals
- Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis
- Process vendor payments, manage cash flow, and support budget preparation and variance analysis
- Utilize Excel and QuickBooks Online to maintain accurate financial records and generate meaningful reports
- Support administrative functions including contract management, insurance coordination, and office operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide financial insights
- Establish and document accounting procedures and internal controls to support scalable growth
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, with demonstrated proficiency in end-to-end accounting processes
- Experience in a combination of or all areas: audit, accounting, tax preparation, government compliance, payroll, and benefits administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and QuickBooks Online
- Strong understanding of IFRS/PFRS principles and financial reporting requirements
- Knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll systems and benefits administration processes
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA licensure
- Previous experience in a startup or small business environment where versatility and adaptability were essential
- Experience with audit processes and working with external accounting firms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented mindset with commitment to accuracy and process improvement
- Proactive attitude with ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with additional accounting software platforms and financial analysis tools
