Zenith is a comparatively new hospitality group that has seen rapid growth over the last four years. We are a dynamic organisation that operates seven hotels in addition to controlling other investments.
Reporting to the CFO, we need an assistant accountant to fill a newly created crucial role to ensure the smooth functioning of financial processes.
Our outsourced accounting firm is Quantaco. They complete payroll, accounts payable, BAS and IAS lodgements and compile monthly management reports via Netsuite ERM.
The data that goes into that system needs to be provided by Zenith. Experience in accounting will ensure the integrity of the data.
Assistance is provided by a part-time Payroll/Accounts Payable Coordinator, Admin Assistant and the Gaming Analyst.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee Accounts payable on a weekly basis
- Analysis of weekly wages
- Prepare intercompany recharges where applicable.
- Checking weekly takings systems and banking
- Checking function deposits are treated correctly, liaising with venue management regarding any discrepancies.
- Work closely with Quantaco to ensure all clearing accounts are fully reconciled and financial discrepancies are investigated and corrected.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure capital expenditure is correctly accounted for
- Assist in compliance with legal, legislative, and statutory requirements of the hospitality industry.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Stay updated on regulations, and best practices.
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Qualification in accounting is desirable.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to review and analyse financial data accurately.
- Proficiency in accounting software in general and Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Netsuite would be preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
