Technical Support Specialist

This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electromechanical issues, performing major troubleshooting and overhauling of land-based equipment, and preparing and assembling sub-assembly components. The Technical Support Specialist , Mechanical also supports capability building by training junior mechanics and technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve team performance and equipment reliability.

What you’ll do

• Perform hydraulic and mechanical repairs, as well as preventive maintenance of land-based equipment (LBE)
• Troubleshoot issues involving diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and transmission systems
• Determine and prepare the necessary parts, tools, and materials required for repairs
• Maintain LBE in optimal operating condition to ensure reliability and efficiency
• Collaborate with equipment operators and fellow technicians to address operational and maintenance concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards
• Train and mentor mechanical technicians through a buddy system and on-the-job guidance
• Perform and lead major equipment troubleshooting and overhauling activities
• Recondition and assemble parts to ensure availability of serviceable spares
• Assist and coordinate with vendors or service providers during repair and maintenance activities
• Review and validate vendor assessments and recommendations for parts and services
• Identify and recommend parts for replacement based on equipment condition and performance

Educational Background

• Vocational/Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree of :  Mechanical, Automotive, or other related technical studies
  
  

Professional Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in heavy equipment or automotive maintenance and repair
