Job Title Specialist I, Security

The Security Specialist I provides administrative and operational support to the site’s security program by performing routine security monitoring, documentation, reporting, and compliance activities. This role assists in maintaining security records, monitoring security systems, processing access requests, and supporting audits and investigations.

The position follows established security procedures, protocols, and work instructions while developing foundational knowledge in physical security, access control, CCTV operations, visitor management, and security compliance. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, audit awareness, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Security Operations Support

  • Perform assigned daily security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of physical security requirements within the facility.
  • Escalate security concerns, incidents, and policy violations to senior security personnel.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of security-related information.


CCTV Monitoring

  • Monitor CCTV systems and report unusual activities or security concerns.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure cameras and related equipment are operational.
  • Document monitoring activities and equipment issues.
  • Assist in retrieving CCTV recordings upon authorized request.


Access Control Administration

  • Process approved access requests and maintain accurate access records.
  • Monitor employee, contractor, and visitor access compliance.
  • Maintain proper documentation and supporting records.
  • Report access-related issues and unauthorized access attempts.


Visitor Management

  • Verify visitor registrations and required documentation.
  • Ensure visitors comply with site security requirements.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs and records.
  • Support client visits and security-related audits.


Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly security reports.
  • Maintain incident logs, access records, audit files, and security trackers.
  • Update and manage information in security databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.


Audit and Compliance Support

  • Assist with routine security inspections using established checklists.
  • Support internal and client audit preparations.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain audit documentation and evidence.
  • Track completion of corrective actions assigned by senior security personnel.


Incident Documentation

  • Record and document security incidents accurately and promptly.
  • Collect relevant information and supporting evidence for investigations.
  • Escalate incidents according to established procedures.
  • Assist senior security personnel during incident reviews and assessments.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.


Experience

  • Up to 1 year of experience in security, compliance, administration, facilities management, or a related function is an advantage.
  • Internship or on-the-job training experience related to security or compliance is a plus.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of security principles and workplace security practices.
  • Understanding of audit and compliance concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong record-keeping and documentation capabilities.
  • Willingness to learn security systems, tools, and processes.
