What You'll Be Doing

The Product Development Scientist II play a key role in bringing innovative beauty and personal care products to life, supporting projects from concept through to launch. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help translate consumer insights into impactful formulations, ensuring products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards. You will independently manage development activities, contribute technical expertise, and help solve formulation challenges while maintaining timelines. Your work will directly support Avon’s commitment to delivering high-quality, consumer-loved products.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and optimizing formulations across Avon’s product categories
• Supporting end-to-end product development from concept to commercialization
• Conducting laboratory testing, stability studies, and performance evaluations
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing
• Troubleshooting formulation or process issues and proposing effective solutions
• Ensuring compliance with internal standards, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Documenting technical data, reports, and development progress
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Product Development for cosmetics (emulsions, surfactants, fragrances, colors, aerosols, etc.)
• Proven experience in product development, ideally within beauty, personal care, or FMCG
• Strong understanding of formulation principles and laboratory practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a focus on quality
• Experience working in cross-functional teams is an advantage
