As an Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing and managing midmile operations and agents to ensure efficient cargo movement, timely loading and retrieval activities, compliance with operational standards, and achievement of service level agreements (SLAs). You will provide operational leadership for airline and vessel loading and retrieval activities while ensuring workforce productivity, operational continuity, and service quality.

What You’ll Do (your Mission)

Midmile Operations Management

  • Supervise and monitor daily midmile operations to ensure the timely movement of shipments.
  • Oversee dispatch, routing, transfer, and delivery activities to minimize operational delays and bottlenecks.
  • Ensure timely loading and retrieval of shipments for both air and sea operations.
  • Coordinate operational activities to support efficient cargo movement and service delivery.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues affecting shipment movement and service performance.

Airline and Vessel Loading and Retrieval

  • Monitor airline and vessel loading and retrieval activities to ensure adherence to operational schedules.
  • Ensure shipments are properly transferred and processed within established timelines.
  • Coordinate with operational teams to maintain smooth loading and retrieval operations.
  • Monitor shipment handling activities to reduce delays and service failures.

Agents and Service Provider Management

  • Supervise and monitor the performance of agents and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), operational standards, and company requirements.
  • Track and evaluate service provider performance against established KPIs.
  • Address operational concerns and implement corrective actions to improve service performance.

Performance Monitoring and Compliance

  • Monitor operational KPIs and productivity targets.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and service standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and operational monitoring activities.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide updates on performance, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Workforce Management

  • Supervise daily workforce activities to ensure productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to operational personnel.
  • Monitor manpower utilization and operational coverage requirements.
  • Promote accountability and adherence to operational standards among team members.

Business Continuity and Risk Management

  • Ensure continuity of operations during peak periods, employee absences, leave schedules, and emergency situations.
  • Identify operational risks and implement measures to minimize disruptions.
  • Support initiatives that improve operational control, coordination, and service reliability.

You’ll thrive in this role if you

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, transportation, cargo operations, or related operational functions.
  • Experience in supervising operational activities, service providers, or agents is an advantage.
