About The Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, provided as a full-time dedicated resource through a partner

The Engineer Will Cover Two Complementary Workstreams Simultaneously

• Engineering Office — Projects (BE Affaires): design and drawing production for sold projects
• Engineering Office — R&D (BE Développement): development of Actiwork’s proprietary product range.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

Project Engineering (BE Affaires)

• Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings and assemblies on SolidWorks (AutoCAD) for sold ergonomic equipment: workstations, motorized lifting systems, transfer and traction solutions
• Generate a complete bill of materials (BOM) and flat patterns for sheet metal and welded structures
• Deliver drawings within project timelines agreed with the project manager
• Provide technical support during manufacturing for complex assemblies when required
• Deliverables: Plans and documentation in English (and French when required)
  
  

Product Development (BE Development — R&D)

• Continue development of the Company’s flagship product range in close collaboration with the internal team
• Contribute to specifications integrating customer expectations and regulatory requirements, including the EU Machinery Directive
• Perform design and cost optimisation studies
• Manage prototype testing phases and iterate on designs
• Produce complete technical dossiers: user manuals, technical data sheets, manufacturing instructions, electrical schematics, risk assessments
• Support industrialisation of the product range
• Chair project progress meetings and maintain planning accountability
  
  

Electrical (CRITICAL — not optional)

• Design and integrate electrical and electronic components within equipment architecture
• Produce electrical schematics and PLC/automation logic diagrams
• Develop automation programs for motorised equipment
• Set up and run test benches to validate functionality
• This competency is a strict selection criterion — candidates without automation experience will not be considered
  
  

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering
• Minimum 7 years in equipment design (machinery design)
• Expert level — mandatory. 3D modelling, 2D drawings, assemblies, BOM
• Proven experience designing CE-certified industrial equipment — critical requirement
• Electrical schematics, PLC programming, mandatory
• Native or fully fluent English (C1 minimum) Or fluent French
• Comfortable with ERP systems and MS Office
• Strong initiative and design autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, clear written and verbal communication
  
  

Non-negotiable Skills And Requirements

• Minimum 7 years in equipment design (machinery design)
• Expert level — mandatory. 3D modelling, 2D drawings, assemblies, BOM
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
• Knowledge of thermal, fluid, or structural analysis.
• Experience in the design of Forestry equipment and especially vegetation management machinery (Wood Chippers, Stump Grinders, Horizontal and Tub Grinders, Slow Speed Shredders, etc)
