Lead Telecommunications Design Engineer (Relocation to Philippines required)

We are seeking a Lead Telecommunications Design Engineer to oversee and manage a Philippines-based design team supporting telecom infrastructure projects. This role combines hands-on design expertise with team leadership, ensuring high-quality delivery of GIS-enabled and AutoCAD-based telecom network designs. The ideal candidate will drive productivity, maintain standards, and serve as the key liaison between local teams and global stakeholders. This person will be working out of our Philippines office location and will require coordination across US and Philippine time zones to work with our US based engineering teams.

What You Will Do

• Lead and mentor a telecom design team in the Philippines, assign work, manage workloads, and ensure deadlines are met
• Conduct performance reviews, provide technical guidance, and enforce design standards and QA/QC processes
• Oversee FTTH/FTTx, backbone, and wireless network design projects
• Review AutoCAD drawings, GIS maps, and engineering packages for accuracy and quality
• Ensure correct fiber routing, splicing diagrams, and as-built documentation
• Support resolution of complex technical design issues
• Guide use of GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and ensure integration with AutoCAD deliverables
• Maintain consistent data standards across platforms
• Act as liaison between the Philippines team and US stakeholders
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and field teams on scope, timelines, and deliverables
• Track project progress, risks, and quality metrics
  
  

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical, Civil, or Geodetic Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of telecom design experience, with team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS)
• Experience in fiber network design (OSP, FTTH/FTTx).
• Previous experience leading an offshore or remote engineering team.
• Experience with telecom design tools (IQGeo, 3-GIS, Aramis).
• Knowledge of end-to-end design workflows, from planning to as-built.
• QA/QC for engineering deliverables
