The Snapshot
You'd be joining an Australian commercial construction and façade company that supplies and installs high-performance cladding and facade systems on commercial buildings, with a strong focus on fire-rated and non-combustible compliance work. This isn't one-off residential renovations: think commercial builds and larger-scale developments, with 5 to 10 tenders in motion at any given time, ranging from smaller industrial or factory-scale jobs up to bigger multi-unit developments.
You'd own the accuracy of the numbers. Local rates and final commercial decisions sit with the Australian team; your job is making sure every quantity, rate, and line item is right, complete, and defensible before it goes out the door. This role is internal facing, working directly with the Managing Director and Estimating Manager rather than clients, and it's built to grow you'll start from a detailed brief and drawing pack, and over time take on just the drawings and run the process yourself, end to end.
This role is based in the Philippines, working hours aligned to Perth, Western Australia (AWST).

What's In It for You
A stable, full-time role with a business that genuinely needs you and wants you to grow into it. You'd be trusted to own your area, not micromanaged, working with a small team that values someone who can take things off their plate and run with them.
On top of that, Staffstream looks after you properly:
You're employed compliantly under Philippine law: a proper local employment contract, your taxes handled correctly, and all your government-mandated benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) plus 13th month pay. That means real security and peace of mind, not a loose freelance arrangement. Everything is above board and looked after for you.
How This Works
You'd be employed directly by Staffstream, not by the client. We place you with an Australian business and support you the whole way, handling the local employment side properly so you can focus on the work in front of you.

What You'll Actually Do
Quantity takeoffs and estimating
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural, and shop drawings using Bluebeam.
- Build and maintain priced estimates, applying rates and labour constants provided by the Australian team.
- Work across a genuine mix of tender sizes and complexity, from smaller jobs to larger multi-unit developments.
Quality control
- Identify scope gaps, drawing discrepancies, and missing information, and flag them before pricing is finalized. No silent assumptions.
- Compile and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes against the takeoff.
Documentation and tender prep
- Maintain a clean, structured cost database and pricing library, updated with actual job data.
- Prepare tender documentation: pricing schedules, qualifications, exclusions, and assumptions.
- Hit tender deadlines while keeping takeoff accuracy and presentation to a high standard.
Communication and ownership
- Communicate clearly and proactively with the Australian team across time zones.
- Start from a detailed brief and drawing pack and grow into handling just the drawings independently as you settle into the role.
What You Need to Bring
- Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial construction or façade, ideally for an Australian or international builder.
- Demonstrable, hands-on Bluebeam experience for quantity takeoff and markup. This is non-negotiable: you'll need to describe specific projects you've measured in Bluebeam.
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience with Cubit (or genuinely comparable dedicated estimating software). This is also non-negotiable.
- Comfortable enough in Excel to build and present a clear costing. You don't need to be an Excel expert, just confident getting the right numbers into a spreadsheet cleanly.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- High accuracy and speed in quantity takeoff.
- Excellent written and spoken English, comfortable jumping on a call to talk through issues rather than just messaging.
- A reliable home office setup: stable high-speed internet, a current PC capable of running Bluebeam, and backup power or a contingency plan.
Nice to Have
- Experience working remotely for an Australian construction company.
- Familiarity with Australian standards, units, and trade terminology.
- Exposure to façade or curtain wall packages specifically.
- Exposure to Estimate One, Procore, or PlanSwift.
