Job Description

Your Career in ESG & Sustainability

As part of our development activities in the Philippines, we are building a strong ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) team and are looking for experienced professionals at different levels to support the successful development and execution of our renewable energy projects.

Available Positions

We are currently accepting applications for:

  • ESG different levels of experience (from Officer to Supervisor) – covering the full scope of Environmental, Social, and Governance activities, including environmental management, sustainability reporting, ESG compliance, risk monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Social & Community relations - focused on community engagement, stakeholder management, social performance, grievance management, social development programs, and fostering positive relationships with local communities and project stakeholders.

Timeline

Specific vacancies will open depending on project needs.

Locations

We are hiring for the following locations:

  • Daanbantayan, Cebu

  • Bulalacao, Mindoro

  • Kalayaan, Laguna

Contract Type

ESG positions are primarily based in the project area and will be hired under a project-based contract aligned with project development timelines.

The positions will be hired under Acciona Energía and will have access to our range of employee benefits, including HMO and life insurance.

About Your Role in ESG & Sustainability

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a critical function in ensuring that renewable energy projects are developed responsibly, sustainably, and in alignment with both regulatory requirements and international best practices.

The ESG team supports the identification and management of environmental and social risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. The team works closely with development, permitting, engineering, construction, land, and community relations teams to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, sustainability frameworks, lender requirements, and corporate standards.

The team also plays a key role in promoting positive community relationships, protecting biodiversity and natural resources, supporting human rights due diligence, and contributing to the long-term sustainability objectives of our projects.

Depending on the level of the role, responsibilities will range from hands-on environmental and social monitoring and reporting to coordination and supervision of ESG initiatives across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities (Depending on Level)

Environmental Management

  • Support the implementation of environmental management strategies and sustainability initiatives across project sites.

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, permit requirements, corporate standards, and international frameworks.

  • Support the preparation and review of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related environmental studies.

  • Identify environmental risks and support the implementation of mitigation and monitoring measures.

  • Monitor compliance with environmental permits, commitments, and site-specific management plans.

  • Support implementation of waste management, water management, biodiversity conservation, and environmental monitoring programs.

  • Coordinate environmental reporting requirements with government agencies, consultants, and project teams.

  • Participate in site inspections, audits, and environmental compliance assessments.

Social Management

  • Support Social Impact Assessments (SIA) and other studies aimed at identifying social risks and opportunities.

  • Assist in implementing human rights due diligence processes and Human Rights Impact Assessments.

  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to communicate project activities and address concerns.

  • Support the development and implementation of community development and social investment initiatives.

  • Assist in monitoring social performance indicators and implementation of social management plans.

  • Support grievance management processes and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment between ESG commitments and project execution activities.

ESG Risk Monitoring & Reporting

  • Support identification, assessment, and monitoring of ESG risks and opportunities throughout project development and construction.

  • Contribute to the implementation of project Sustainability Master Plans and ESG action plans.

  • Collect, analyze, and report ESG performance data for internal management, lenders, regulators, and other stakeholders.

  • Support sustainability reporting requirements and monitoring of key ESG indicators.

  • Assist in implementing corporate initiatives related to decarbonization, circular economy, waste reduction, resource efficiency, and sustainable procurement.

  • Support ESG audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action tracking.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Community Development, Natural Resources Management, or a related field. Or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental management, social performance, community development, or related functions, preferably within renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, mining, or large-scale development projects.
  • Knowledge of Philippine environmental regulations, permitting processes, and social development requirements.
  • Familiarity with international sustainability frameworks and standards, including lender requirements and ESG best practices.
  • Experience supporting environmental and social impact assessments, compliance monitoring, or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with local communities, government agencies, consultants, and project teams.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and field locations across the Philippines.
