Job Description

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Engineering and Maintenance Department to ensure the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in excellent working condition. The role supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensures compliance with safety, operational, and quality standards. The Engineering Supervisor supports the Engineering Manager in maintaining efficient building operations, guest comfort, and asset preservation.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervise daily engineering and maintenance activities across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and hotel equipment.
• Assign and monitor maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for all hotel systems and equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance breakdowns, emergencies, and operational concerns.
• Ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and other building systems.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and walkthroughs to identify maintenance issues and safety concerns.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions and repairs.
• Monitor ongoing repair, renovation, and improvement works to ensure compliance with hotel standards and specifications.
• Assist in supervising contractors and service providers during project implementation.
• Monitor the condition and performance of engineering equipment and facilities.
• Assist in planning minor upgrading and improvement projects.
• Support energy conservation and cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance records, equipment history, and service reports.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any related technical course.
• Licensed Engineer is preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in engineering or maintenance operations, preferably in hospitality, property management, or commercial facilities.
• Experience in supervising maintenance personnel is an advantage.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building maintenance systems.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
