Content Accounting Specialist

As Netflix grows globally, we continue to look for the best and brightest talent to scale with our growth. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist professional to support our Content Accounting function. Our Content Accounting team is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of content and content-related transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

We are hiring a total of three (3) full-time Accounting Specialists who will be based in our Manila office and will be part of our global Content Accounting team. This position will interact with global teams and will work cross-functionally across time zones with our US and international offices. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented, able to analyze and process large volumes of data with high accuracy, have excellent communication skills, capable of multi-tasking and have a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Content Accounting teams across the globe to understand the Content Accounting workflow
• Part of the team responsible for the financial integrity of the company's content commitments, assets (capitalization), liabilities (payments), and expenses (amortization)
• Set-up, maintenance, and review of content license contracts in proprietary systems, with a focus on license fee uploads and payment terms
• Support in the accounting set-up for owned content, including Estimated FInal Cost reconciliation and locks
• Reconciliation of data imports and exports related to content transactions
• Preparation of reclassification journal entries for above accounts
• Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks to support new initiatives and contribute to the organization’s goals
• Open to work during regular business hours, with flexibility to slide shifts / work overtime to certain critical business periods

Education & Experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience in Finance or Accounting
• Degree in a relevant field of study
• Experience working in a multinational/global company is a plus
• Highly proficient in Excel (Google sheet experience is a plus) and comfortable working with large data sets
• Knowledge of cloud-based ERP systems (Workday experience is a plus)
• Strong understanding of US GAAP is preferred
