Cleaning service general manager

Window Wonders Window Cleaning

Date: 5 hours ago
City: General Santos
Contract type: Full time
We're hiring for a Canada Summer Jobs position and are making an intentional effort to reach 2SLGBTQI+ youth, black and other racialized youth, and youth with disabilities.

The Franchisee role at Window Wonders in Vancouver is much more than a summer job—it’s an opportunity to take on responsibility, gain real-world business experience, and develop skills that bring classroom theory to life. The Manager oversees team operations, handles client communications, and leads initiatives like scheduling, invoicing, and resolving daily challenges, ensuring smooth operations, a motivated team, and a maintained five-star Google rating.

As a student-owned business, we believe in the incredible potential of young people and provide them with the opportunity to lead. The Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of a team of five youth, including Window Cleaners and Sales Representatives. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to build leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills while experiencing firsthand what it’s like to run a business. At established companies, young people are often limited in responsibilities—they’re not the face of the brand speaking to clients, don’t manage revenues or invoices, and rarely schedule or lead teams. From my experience at internships and what I’ve heard from friends, most summer jobs offer students a small role. In contrast, Managers at Window Wonders gain exposure to all aspects of the business, from marketing and scheduling to client acquisition through door-to-door sales. This operational experience is what we want managers to have.

The Manager begins by completing training programs for both Window Cleaners and Sales Representatives. This hands-on training provides a comprehensive understanding of the business, from mastering the water-fed pole cleaning system to learning sales strategies. By gaining firsthand experience, the Manager is equipped to guide their team, resolve issues, and maintain high standards.

Using Jobber, a business CRM, the Manager coordinates job assignments, minimizes travel time, and ensures customers are updated. They oversee performance metrics, identify areas for improvement (e.g., replacing equipment), and ensure the team remains productive. They also track timesheets for submission to the co-owners and are responsible for hitting weekly and monthly targets.

Customer satisfaction is a key focus. The Manager handles communications, including scheduling, quotes, and invoices. They call key clients to ensure satisfaction and address concerns promptly, fostering lasting relationships and encouraging referrals. Maintaining a five-star rating is a priority, and any low reviews require collaboration with the co-owners to resolve.

The Manager implements Window Wonders’ new 1-1 approach, donating 1% of revenues to non-profits and dedicating 1% of team time to volunteering. They identify local organizations or families in need and coordinate free window cleaning services, ensuring impactful sessions aligned with our mission to give back. Beyond work, the Manager organizes and participates in team- building activities like barbecues, beach outings, and trips to Chilliwack Lake or Whistler. These events foster camaraderie, create a supportive work culture, and strengthen team morale.

This role offers unparalleled exposure to business fundamentals like sales, operations, and customer relationship management, while teaching transferable skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving. By the end of the summer, the Manager walks away with practical experience that makes classroom concepts—like accounting and organizational behavior—feel tangible and applicable. Whether it’s understanding depreciation when managing equipment or mastering team dynamics, this role bridges the gap between theory and real-world application.

The Manager position at Window Wonders is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to lead, grow, and make a meaningful impact. It offers exposure to many facets of business, and provides an in-depth understanding of the challenges and rewards of running a business— skills usually reserved for senior roles.
