Job Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading the overall operations and commercial execution of the company's noodle manufacturing business. The role oversees manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, logistics, sales operations, route-to-market strategies, financial performance, and regulatory compliance to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Manufacturing

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee production planning, quality assurance, maintenance, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement, productivity initiatives, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety standards, and government regulations.

Route-to-Market (RTM) Expansion

  • Develop and execute Route-to-Market (RTM) strategies to increase market penetration and nationwide distribution.
  • Identify opportunities to expand coverage across key geographic markets and sales channels.
  • Optimize distributor networks and improve market reach and service levels.

Modern Trade Key Account Governance

  • Establish strategic partnerships with major supermarket chains, convenience stores, and modern trade accounts.
  • Lead key account planning, negotiations, performance reviews, and joint business planning.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets, profitability, and service level agreements.

Traditional Trade & Wholesaler Development

  • Strengthen relationships with wholesalers, distributors, and traditional trade partners.
  • Develop programs to increase product availability, market penetration, and sales growth.
  • Monitor distributor performance and implement channel development initiatives.

Trade Promotion Optimization

  • Develop and evaluate trade promotions to maximize sales, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to execute promotional campaigns and pricing strategies.
  • Monitor promotional effectiveness and recommend improvements.

In-Store Visibility & Category Leadership

  • Drive merchandising excellence and maximize product visibility across retail channels.
  • Ensure effective execution of displays, planograms, promotional materials, and category management initiatives.
  • Strengthen brand presence and market competitiveness.

Market Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, competitor activities, and sales performance.
  • Utilize business intelligence to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Present actionable insights to executive management.

Archipelago Logistics & Freight Strategy

  • Develop logistics and distribution strategies to support nationwide operations across the Philippines.
  • Optimize transportation, freight costs, warehousing, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure efficient supply chain operations while maintaining service quality.

Integrated Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

  • Lead the company's Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Align demand forecasting, production planning, procurement, inventory management, and sales objectives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure operational alignment.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  • Oversee strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and procurement operations.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure the availability of quality raw materials at competitive costs.
  • Implement procurement strategies that support operational efficiency and business continuity.

P&L Ownership & Financial Management

  • Assume full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for the business.
  • Develop annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and performance targets.
  • Monitor revenue, operating expenses, margins, and profitability.
  • Drive cost optimization while maintaining operational excellence.

Corporate Governance & Regulatory Affairs

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, food manufacturing regulations, labor laws, and environmental requirements.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance with relevant government agencies and industry standards.
  • Manage operational risks and implement effective internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • MBA or Master's degree is highly preferred
  • At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with 8–10 years in a senior executive role within food manufacturing, FMCG, or consumer goods
  • Proven experience managing nationwide manufacturing, supply chain, commercial operations, and distribution
  • Strong background in Route-to-Market strategies, modern trade, traditional trade, and key account management
  • Demonstrated experience with P&L management and organizational transformation
