Position Summary

The Activities Assistant helps plan, organize, and lead therapeutic and recreational activities that enhance our residents' quality of life. This role is perfect for a creative, energetic individual looking for a meaningful part-time role with scheduling flexibility and customizable morning start times.

Key Responsibilities

• Activity Leadership: Lead group and individual activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, trivia, and light movement exercises.
• Resident Engagement: Encourage resident participation and provide meaningful one-on-one bedside visits for residents who cannot attend group events.
• Event Support: Set up activity areas, distribute supplies, transport residents safely to and from events, and clean up afterward.
• Documentation: Keep daily, accurate electronic records of resident attendance and engagement levels.
• Community Spirit: Help decorate the facility for holidays and coordinate monthly theme parties to maintain a festive, home-like environment.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Prior experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, or customer service is preferred; experience working with seniors is a big plus.
• Attributes: Energetic, patient, creative, and possessing a genuinely warm, outgoing personality.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and communicate effectively with elderly residents.
• Reliability: Dependable attendance and availability to work varied hours across the week, including rotating weekend shifts.
