The Division of Trauma is recruiting for a NP/PA to join 4 Trauma Surgeons, 1 NP and 1 PA on staff caring for inpatients and outpatients in the Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) areas. The ideal candidate is a self-actualized person who thrives in a dynamic highly collaborative environment. The person will work with a multi-disciplinary team of trauma staff, surgical residents, medical/surgical sub-specialties, nurses, and rehabilitation staff

Basic duties would include working in the hospital and clinic setting with adults and pediatric trauma and surgical intensive care unit patients. Also, respond to Trauma Activations with a supervising Emergency Medicine or Trauma Attending, evaluation of acutely injured patients, complex care coordination, OR first assist, post-op and post-hospitalization clinic practice, and teaching opportunities. The NP/PA will support trauma services with histories, physicals, evaluations, treatment planning, post-op care, and collaboration of care post-hospital discharge. This position will require person to take in-house trauma and SICU call two weeknights per month on average and may include weekend coverage to be shared equally with other trauma/SICU associate provider. A Wisconsin license and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program is required
