Title: CTE Robotics and Automation TechnologyMajor Responsibilities: Individuals applying for this position will work collaboratively with the teachers and students of Weymouth High School, especially with CTE programs within the Engineering, Construction, and Manufacturing clusters.Provide effective supervision of the Robotics & Automation Tech students as deemed appropriate by administration.Work collaboratively with mentor and administration to build curriculum in alignment with the state standards of the Robotics & Automation Technology as stated in the CTE Frameworks.Communicate effectively and on a timely fashion with parents and students.Engage students in various program activities, including but not limited to Skills USA and other program-related activities at the local, district, state and national levels.Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectivesAssess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as necessary.Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis.Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.Assist the administration in implementing District goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the District;Attend staff or team meetings and serve on staff committees as requiredAttend all school and district level mentor meetingsMaintain and improve professional competence.Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the building Principal or designee.Qualifications: Chapter 74 certified or certifiable by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Robotics and Automation Technology and Drafting.If not currently Chapter 74 certified: Associate Degree or higher with at least 4 years of recent industry experience. Skillset: Thorough knowledge of DC Circuits, AC Circuits, and ElectronicsComputer-Aided Drafting, Inventor and/or Solidworks3D printingIndustrial Control Theory & Relay Ladder Logic CircuitsPLC theory and industrial PC applicationMicrocontrollers and industrial electronic theory and applicationEngineering Design ProcessBuilding robotic systemsSCADAKnowledge of the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks for Robotics & Automation Tech is required.Must be an effective communicator, versatile, flexible, a team player, and willing to receive additional training in related areas as needed. Ability to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff.Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States is required.
