Summary



You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCY PLN) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT of NMRTC LEMOORE CA.





Responsibilities



  • You will plan work schedules for subordinates by setting and adjusting short-term priorities to be accomplished.
  • You will interview candidates for positions in the unit.
  • You will support the Navy and Department of Defense policies and guidelines concerning fraud, waste, and abuse.
  • You will serve as project leader and point of contact for all IT projects including providing technical information, assigning personnel to projects, and monitoring the progress of contractors providing IT support.
  • You will maintain documentation/historical data on all aspects of IT services.
  • You will coordinate and perform a variety of administrative/staff functions relating to operations, maintenance and networking.
  • You will provide advice and assistance to users including troubleshooting complex problems, and providing support that minimizes user?s ability to carry out business activities.
  • You will train IT personnel on new applications on user installations and the upkeep of software.

    • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IAT level I within 12 months of appointment.
    • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.


    Qualifications


    I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Gathers facts and uses analytical and evaluative methods to assess information to solve computer problems. 2. Customer Service - Provides support to commercial and government activities serviced. 3. Oral Communication - Provides clear and concise reports, briefs and recommendations to present to senior leadership. 4. Problem Solving - Solves complex problems and provides support to minimize interruptions in service to customers.


    In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Reviews and approves work plans to be accomplished by subordinates; provides policy, direction and technical guidance for the analysis, coordination, planning and implementation of new and emerging technologies and improved information systems; develops, achieves and maintains Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity (CS) strategic plans aligned to the mission and ITSM best practices for fielding and sustaining IT/CS systems; develops plans and strategies to modify the IT infrastructure to support short and long-range goals objectives and plans; reviews, analyzes and resolves difficult and complex technical problems involving systems compatibility, installation wide and external interoperability, circuits, switches and networking; and coordinates installations, troubleshooting and fine tuning of virtual environment and networking components.

    Education:All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

    Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks
